I have been using electronic signatures in my contracts for years. I was one of the first ones in our area to use them.
There just isn't any doubt about the value in our business. Imagine how much more important it will become as the market heats up and multiple offer situations return.
We had a buyer and showed the property on Saturday, they loved it. We returned to the office and wrote the contract. I immediately contacted the seller's agent and delivered the signed contract to her.
We verbally negotiated and I asked when I could have the signed contract returned. I have always treated this with urgency, its not a deal in NH until its signed. The agent reassured me and told me we had a deal, the sellers were out of town and would sign it on Monday when they returned. (Oh by the way, did I mention she had a public open house scheduled for Sunday and she was just going to do it since it was already advertised?)...
Oh no can't let this happen, here comes the electronic signatures. I explained it to the listing agent, emailed the contracts to all parties and we had it signed in about 15 minutes. And the buyers and I had a good night's sleep!
